UK IT services company Logica has won a £9m contract to build an electronic marketplace for the Australian government.
The struggling services firm, which was forced to cut 700 jobs earlier in the summer, will work with German ecommerce group Intershop in the contract.
The marketplace is designed to streamline procurement for the government of New South Wales and will handle 11 million transactions per year.
While the contract is for five years the site will have to be up and running by October.
