Britannia Airways is to offshore its application management and IT support to India in a £7m deal with LogicaCMG.
The five-year contract will see LogicaCMG manage, support and enhance more than 120 of Britannia Airways' IT applications from India.
The services firm already handles all Britannia's applications including finance, HR, engineering, flight scheduling, crew allocation, sales, data warehouse, ecommerce, intranet, document management and desktop applications.
Neil Boulton, head of IT at Britannia Airways, said the "hybrid" approach gives the airline the ability to have the service delivered across the UK and India.
LogicaCMG said the deal will take advantage of its offshore capabilities with 500 staff currently in offshore services. The company intends to increase this to 1,200 by the end of the year.
