Some of the biggest names in technology will once again sleep rough in London this year to highlight the problem of youth homelessness and raise much needed funding.
Byte Night 2006 will take place on 22 September. The annual event will see representatives from tech giants CA, Dell, HP, Intel, Sun, Vodafone and many others supporting the cause. A team from CNET Networks, publisher of silicon.com, will also join the hardy throng in support of National Children's Homes (NCH).
Last year Byte Night raised £250,000 for NCH. The event is now in its seventh year.
Liz Monks, NCH executive director of fundraising, said: "The involvement of such high-profile figures in Byte Night is a tribute to how far the event has come. Byte Night highlights the compassion that exists in the IT industry today."
She added: "We're proud to see corporate social responsibility high on the agenda of all the companies involved, and look forward to welcoming new organisations at this year's event."
