Hub of it all: The international broadcast centre is a vast facility built into massive event halls on the outskirts of Munich, each hall equivalent in size to a facility such as London's Olympia. The venue holds the broadcast centre and Fifa's main IT command centre.

Inside, temporary radio and television studios have been built for the duration of the tournament. There is one for every broadcaster attending the event - from the BBC to national broadcasters from all competing nations. There are also editing suites, a press centre and facilities run by host broadcaster HBS whose pictures everybody else uses.

Fifteen thousand media representatives entering the facility will have to be accredited - each having their details and photograph entered into the system and being issued with a pass. This is a process Fifa is dedicated to carrying out within 10 minutes per person.

Each pass is chipped and checked on entry to every venue to ensure the individual is who they should be and to ensure they have the right access privileges.
