Private healthcare company Bupa has appointed a new CIO.

Yasmin Jetha will take over as the company's CIO from next month with responsibility for its global IT function.

Jetha will join Bupa from the Financial Times, where she is currently CIO. Before her stint at the publisher, Jetha was also responsible for IT at Abbey National where she was a board member.

She succeeds Bupa's previous CIO, John Lister, who left earlier this year after six years with the healthcare provider to take up a role with optician chain Specsavers. The company employed an interim CIO between the two appointments.
