The BBC has confirmed that its CIO, Keith Little, has departed after eight years with the corporation.
Little joined the BBC in 2001, initially holding the CTO post before becoming the broadcaster's CIO.
During his time as CIO, he oversaw the completion of a total refresh of the BBC's network infrastructure to support the move of broadcast technologies to IP standards, and the introduction of a new scheduling system across the corporation.
Little, who featured on silicon.com's CIO50 list of the most influential heads of IT, left the BBC at the beginning of August with BBC CTO, John Linwood, taking over many of his responsibilities.
Following his departure, Little took the majority of August off but has now taken up a position as consultant for Proteus, a technology and business transformation consultancy, at the beginning of September.
"I'm particularly passionate about this area of work as it's always the area of focus for any company and it's a skill area I see sadly lacking from many CIO/CTOs I have met," Little told silicon.com.
