While nearshoring is a practical possibility for Canada, it is unlikely to match the growth rate of off shoring in south Asia, specifically India. The major reason being availability of qualified manpower in abundance, in which India excels.
But given Canada's proximity to the U.S., Canada could/should promote nearshoring and offshoring as a combination of services. For instance during Northe American business hours nearshoring in Canada and offshoring in Asia afte normal hours. This combination will provide advantage in terms of cost savings, comfort levels, volume generation, quality flavour etc.
