Interesting article. I am new to wi-fi. How does one make sure the computer (laptop) one buys for a child heading off to college will have the right hardware and software for the college (or colleges) she will attend? How fast is the normal access at college? How reliable are the systems that allow access? Do any particular applications or pieces of hardware seem extra-fast, extra-reliable, likely to become the standard? How fast is the technology developing? Should one wait until 3 mos before college starts to get the latest hardware and software? Thanks for any thoughts.
