We had a project rescuer many years ago. He had a busy life. We asked him to define how he did it. he said "It's essentially simple: go back and fix the things you did wrong".

There was also some good stuff about short term and long term, mostly involving alligators and swamp draining but the essence was Doing It Right This time.

I can see a whole load of objections to this being promoted by the "Quick Wins" brigade. His answer was always "in the long term it's cheaper to get ot right".
