You should always ask about the pay and conditions, saves you having to reject the post later when you have discovered that the company is not offering the pay or benefits as advertised.
I was offered a post in another company, when I got the letter, promising the job and found the starting pay was 10% less than the advert, I did query this with the company HR, I was then told that was the starting pay, take it or leave it, I told them I would leave it.. What a waste of time for all.
So when being interviewed for any post, please interview the company about its pay and conditions.
