Having been in IT senior management for 20 years and worked in a number of industry sectors two still stand out as bastions of the closed shop they are banking and retail.
On one occaision I went through the hassle of four interviews with a US high street retailer getting to the final two only to be told you are more qualified but have no retail experience which was the reason I applied in the first place was to gain it!
As for Mr Lister an outsourcer is still an outsourcer no matter the industry
