Sorry - but that was NEVER going to happen! In the 1989/92 recession, IT got clobbered, mainly by just making systems last longer and only replacing urgent needs. That will happen again.

Sorry (again) but knee-jerk has always worked for the big bosses before and it will work again now.
Sorry to be downbeat but the world is closer to a full depression than any time since 1929 and NOTHING is safe.
In the early 1960s, my father was a deputy Personnel officer (before it was HR!) and he had to help prepare the list of people for redundancy during a down turn.
He and his boss sent the list to the MD and it came back approved - except that my father's own name had been written in by hand ... don't imagine it will be any different this time.
