Online trading community grows exponentially

The online trading community will grow to 8.6 million people in the next six months, according to research firm Gomez Advisors and polling firm Harris Interactive.

With 5.1 million online investors holding 11.2 million accounts through 140 Web brokers already, some 3.5 million more people are planning to open online trading accounts within the next six months, the report pred
icts.

But according to Jupiter Communications, online businesses need to educate consumers on what's on offer. A report out this week from Jupiter states that 64 per cent of online consumers are unlikely to trust a Web site, even if the site features a privacy policy.
