ICL's friends in the north
First it braved Yorkshire, now Lancashire welcomes ICL with open arms...

ICL has won a contract to provide an innovative online procurement system to Lancashire County Council, in a move the firm says will enable the council to cut costs and save time.

The system, based on ICL's e-purchasing software Connecx, will be rolled out to 1,000 users in Lancashire's Purchasing Agency. Employees will be able to choose from a range of 17,000 approved items whenever they need to order new supplies.

The system will be used to buy anything from staples and pens to office furniture, and the software will automatically cap users' spending, depending on pre-set privileges and levels of responsibility.

No value was put on the deal.
