Cut back on landfill and help a heart

Recycle printer cartridges through the British Heart Foundation

The British Heart Foundation is calling on computer users at work and at home to "put their heart into recycling" and give the society the benefit of reusing printer cartridges.

Business users can register with BHF partner LaserXchange and have their used cartridges collected free of charge. Home users can get freepost envelopes from their local BHF shop to dispose of their inkjet and laser print cartridges.

The BHF will get £1 for every inkjet cartridge and £2.50 for every laser cartridge returned through the scheme. The Foundation claims that 19.5 million cartridges end up in UK landfills every year. It hopes to raise £25,000 in the first year of the recycling scheme.

More than two million people in the UK suffer from coronary heart disease. The BHF funds research, patient care and equipment.

Companies can register to take part in the scheme and home users can request freepost envelopes by calling LaserXchange on 01873 859 901.
