New service provides instant feedback

silicon.com has launched a service that allows readers to compare themselves against their peers in key areas of IT use.
To start with, the innovative benchmarking service covers three topics:
The benchmarking methodology and unique algorithm is driven by silicon.com partner the Bathwick Group.
Tony Hallett, silicon.com editor and site director, said: "We're happy to be working with Bathwick on something new like this, which gives real value back to our readers.
"This is a classic 'give to get' service. Each benchmark takes about five minutes and places each user on a graded scale - showing where they sit against the overall average and the extremes."
At the end of each session users receive results on a web page and have the option to receive them by email, as a graphic, with a written explanation - handy to have to hand when making a case at board level or with a supplier.
silicon.com will roll out further benchmarks over coming months covering key technologies and technology-related issues.
The service launches carrying sponsorship from Intel.
