
Among UK's most sleep deprived

IT workers suffer more sleepless nights than most other professionals in the UK.
Exhausted techies are getting by on just six hours and 30 minutes sleep per night, putting them at number six in the top 10 of sleep deprived professions - as judged by hotel chain Travelodge.

IT pros are getting one and a half hours less shuteye than recommended, putting IT just behind high-stress professions, including lawyers and call centre workers.
The study of 4,000 workers found that 75 per cent of employees admitted getting less than eight hours kip per night.
The survey says worry about work and job security tops the list of things keeping workers awake, with money worries and working late also fuelling sleepless nights.
More than a third of those surveyed said they can not switch off from work at any time and 32 per cent said they drift off thinking of work.
