The past year has seen some memorable footage come to silicon.com including Bill Gates' final visit to London before stepping down as Microsoft chairman, and a behind-the-scenes look at the tech in Heathrow's Terminal 5. There were also some fascinating films about Britain's technology heritage and lots more.
Early on in the year, the annual mobile phone jamboree Mobile World Congress, formerly known as 3GSM, took place and silicon.com reporter Natasha Lomas quizzed some of the mobile's biggest names about the future of the industry.

Also in February, Bill Gates discussed how technology is changing the way businesses and consumers are interacting at an Institute of Directors event in London. It was his final appearance on British soil before relinquishing the post of Microsoft chairman in June.
March saw silicon.com reporter Tim Ferguson take a look around Heathrow's brand new Terminal 5, billed as the most technologically advanced airport terminal in the world. Head of BA's T5 information management programme, Glenn Morgan, gave silicon.com an exclusive tour.
Sticking with the travel theme, in June, silicon.com's tech guru Peter Cochrane gave his tips on what to pack on a business trip to make sure you turn up looking your best. His utility case has to be seen to be believed.
At the annual silicon.com CIO50 event in London this summer, several of the high profile CIOs gave their thoughts on some of the big issues facing their contemporaries. One subject that proved especially interesting was CIOs' tips on how to make it to the top of the tech pile.
The 60-Second Pitch series was a new addition to silicon.com in 2008 and put tech vendors in front of some of the most demanding CIOs in the business.
July saw a particular highlight of the series as one vendor tangled with the panel of CIOs over secure services tech.
In September, silicon.com took a look at the world's first electronic codebreaking computer, Colossus, as part of a series of exclusive videos exploring Bletchley Park, the former home of Britain's World War II codebreakers.
The rebuild of the machine that played a major part in the Allied victory is on show at the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley.
While at Bletchley Park, silicon.com also checked out some classic British PCs from years gone by, revisiting golden oldies including the BBC Micro and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
In October, headhunters Cathy Holley and Vicky Maxwell Davies from Boyden Global Executive Search, gave invaluable advice on creating the perfect CV to land that dream tech job.
Another video in the Business Traveller series aired in November saw Natasha Lomas travel on a TGV Est train from Paris to Basel to road- (or track) test onboard wi-fi as part of a trial by French train operator SNCF. The tech was rolled out across the fleet later in the year.
