London charity gets share of $50,000 Salesforce donation
Two projects in Ireland also celebrating today...

A North London charity has been named as one of the recipients of a charitable donation from the Salesforce Foundation, the charitable arm of US CRM vendor Salesforce.com.

The Janus Foundation is to launch a youth project called Focus, based in North London, which is aimed at getting children from poorer backgrounds exploring digital arts and new media.

The project offers personal mentoring, after-school workshops and training for youths aged between 12 and 19.

The charity will receive a share of a $50,000 charity pot to help establish the project in the capital.

Two other recipients of a similar grant are based in Ireland. One is the Dublin YMCA who will use the money to set up a revenue-generating internet café in the lobby of its centre. All income generated will go back into the running of the YMCA.

St Joseph's School for the Visually Impaired, also in Dublin, will spend the money on specialist computer equipment for children who are visually impaired.

Other grant winners are based in Israel, Palestine and Swaziland.
