April this year saw the first tests of Watchkeeper's unmanned flight capability while a test of the vehicle's automatic takeoff and landing was carried out in August.
The current batch of tests will put its onboard systems under the microscope.
A Thales spokeswoman told silicon.com: "This is the first time the air vehicle has flown with the systems and communicated down to ground control station [pictured here] and has fed images down to ground control station."
