Internet technology provider Star has launched a small business edition of its Netstar product, comprising Internet access, ISDN connection, firewall security, technical support and remote installation.
The budget package is aimed at start-ups and small businesses with between five and 50 staff using the Internet, and costs under £2,000.
In separate news, BT has opened the first of its Businessconnections Customer Centres. The centre - located in Birmingham - targets businesses from the self-employed up to large corporations, and aims to draw in potential customers by showcasing technology.
BT plans to open similar centres across the country, covering the themes of Home Worker, Young Business, Business on the Move, Core Business and Advanced Call Centre. More information about the Birmingham centre is available on 0800 783 5808.
