Phonex will launch its PhoneXtender product in the UK next month, allowing British citizens to create a network in the home using power lines.

John Knab, president and CEO at Phonex believes the convergence of phones, set-top boxes and the Internet will all need to be accessed on the same system.

"With phones, the Internet and set-top boxes all converging into one combined industry, we will provide the ability to run them as one within the home," said Knab.

In the last 12 years, Phonex has gained over two million users in the US. Knab predicts that by the summer of 2000, its technology will be providing DSL over power lines at up to 11Mbps.
