Excite has launched online support centres for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in France, Germany and the UK.
The sites include free email and Web space, legal and regulatory information, job listings, business travel bookings, and access to customised business news.
Sponsorship for the centres is being provided by Hewlett-Packard (HP). Frederic Leenhardt, marketing manager for HP Europe, said that SMEs want a simple and cost-effective way to compete, and ecommerce fits that requirement perfectly.
"We're trying to equip David against Goliath in the online world," Leenhardt said. "What SMEs need is for the Internet to be made easy."
The Excite Business Centres are located at http://www.excite.co.uk/business_centre .
