UK domain name registrar, NetBenefit, has this week launched a Web hosting facility aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
According to the company, the facility will enable businesses to run their own dedicated server with a variety of bandwidth and data transfer options, as well as add-ons like firewalls, extra IP addresses and technical support.
Matthew Tidy, specialist hosting manager at NetBenefit, explained: "This is the first stage of our complete specialist hosting facility. We've already been hosting Web sites for three years, now we're looking to broaden our horizons and product range."
NetBenefit is outsourcing its hosting infrastructure to Colt Telecom's City Road site in London.
"The majority of SMEs can't afford to buy a whole rack of space [in a hosting centre]," said Tidy. "We'll give them as little or as much as they want."
