Unless you are as big as your supplier, you will get very little 'mindshare' from them. You are purely an unimportant cash cow. Where the big customers can and do drive the price down, they will need to make their profit from you. And they will. And you will pay, not immediately but once you are locked in. The smaller supplier is happy to have your business, will bend over backwards to keep it and will genuinely want you to recommend him to all your friends. The larger suppliers don't need your recommendation. Buy local and small, build a great partnership and both will win.
