Interesting analysis. However all these models (which VCs love as it gives them a basis for analysis) avoid 'feeling for the business' because they can't quantify it. Anyone can do the research, set-up a business and hit all the points and fail.

Yes you need luck, need to be well managed and occasionally a business plan is useful (especially if you want VC cash) but you also need a 'gut feel' for what your want to achieve and your chosen business. When I've had it I have succeeded and when I've not had it I have failed. I've had one major success and one failure. This third one has 'feeling' and is heading in the right direction.
