O2 has announced a new "starter pack" for customers that are setting up small businesses.

The mobile operator's new SME Starter plan gives customers a free two-month subscription to any O2 Best for Business tariff, a dedicated customer-service helpdesk and a call from an account manager every three months. SMEs can take up the offer if they sign 12-month contracts with O2.

Two months of free access to the O2 "Concierge" service - an operator-based personal assistant scheme for booking hotels, renting cars and so on, which usually costs £50 per month - are also included, although customers can cancel the service after the two months if they wish.

O2's business propositions manager, David Baxter, said: "This is designed to give entrepreneurs the support they need. It includes a great value tariff, guaranteed service promise and concierge services bundled together, leaving Britain's start-ups free to get on with getting their businesses off the ground."

O2 already claims to have the largest share of SME customers out of any UK operator. Best for Business tariffs start at £29.79 per month, and further information about the SME Starter pack is available from O2.
